Like it or not, Zack Snyder has got a thing for comics and has made it his habit of bringing iconic properties to the screen. He’s essentially banked his career on them, with “300,” “Watchmen,” “Man Of Steel,” and “Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice” all coming from comic book origins (to be fair he’s […]

Supergirl Cast Dishes on Superman's Iconic Suit & Why Dancing With the Stars Is Their Biggest Threat

25 July 2016 5:07 PM, PDT | E! Online | See recent E! Online news »

Kara Zor-El (Melissa Benoist) will have another spandex-clad partner in crime-fighting when Supergirl heads to The CW for season two this fall: her cousin, Superman. Tyler Hoechlin, who's playing the iconic Man of Steel, told E! News at Comic-Con that he's ready to step into the Superman suit. "I believe there will be a suit involved in this one, it would be weird if it wasn't," he told us. "But I haven't tried it on yet. Hopefully when we get to Vancouver we'll give it a shot." However, Hoechlin's Superman might look slightly different than the comic book hero we know and love. "It's a nice Armani with a really, really sweet tie," joked costar »

Reviewing the Seven Biggest Comic-Con Trailers

24 July 2016 4:18 PM, PDT | Cinelinx | See recent Cinelinx news »

We all love movie trailers. Some of us get to the theater early so we can catch all the trailers. We review trailers. Studios even make trailers for trailers. (And we review those, too.) Trailers get people excited. That’s their job, if they’re done correctly. Comic-Con has unveiled a bunch of trailers over the past few days. Cinelinx is taking a second look at seven trailers for some of the most anticipated upcoming movies.

Justice League: What’s immediately obvious from the trailer is that the tone of this film will be very different from the earlier Snyderverse films. When the WB opened the set to critics several weeks back, everyone present said that they were encouraged by the humorous scenes being filmed featuring the Flash. This trailer seems to back up those claims, focusing on the interactions of the team members. The thread of the trailer »

Comic-Con 2016: Henry Cavill Fools Will Smith and ‘Superman’ Fans (Video)

Superman went super stealth over the weekend at San Diego Comic-Con, as he walked around the floor of the annual convention in disguise. Henry Cavill, who plays the Man of Steel in the Warner Bros.’ DC Comic franchise movies, donned a “V for Vendetta” mask as part of the ruse. At one point he headed to the “Suicide Squad” signing table and snapped a photo with Will Smith before Smith realized it was one of his DC Cinematic Universe brethren. Here's That Awesome Song From The First Trailer For Justice League

24 July 2016 10:22 AM, PDT | ComicBookMovie.com | See recent ComicBookMovie news »

The Justice League trailer was very interesting, especially as the amount of humour in there made it feel more like a Marvel Studios movie than Man of Steel and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. That's not necessarily a bad thing of course, and you have to hand it to Warner Bros. for putting together such an excellent preview at a relatively early stage in the upcoming movie's production.  Something which worked particularly well with both the footage and tone was the song playing in the background. Did it sound familiar? Well, it turns out that it wasn't just some random trailer music! In reality, it was "Icky Thump" by The White Stripes, a song written by Jack White and first released back in 2007. It was a huge hit at the time and even won a Grammy in 2008 for "Best Rock Performance." You can listen to the full version below, »

Must Watch: Comic-Con Footage from Zack Snyder's 'Justice League'

23 July 2016 4:02 PM, PDT | firstshowing.net | See recent FirstShowing.net news »

"I'm looking for warriors..." This is a nice surprise! Warner Bros has debuted the official Comic-Con trailer for Justice League online for all to see. This continuation of the Man of Steel and Batman v Superman movies in the DC universe brings together six main superheroes: Ben Affleck as Batman, Henry Cavill as Superman, Jason Momoa as Aquaman, Ezra Miller as The Flash, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, and Ray Fisher as Cyborg. There may be a few others, and the extensive cast includes Willem Dafoe, Jeremy Irons, Amber Heard, Amy Adams, Jesse Eisenberg, and J.K. Simmons as Commissioner Gordon. Hopefully this trailer is an improvement over Batman v Superman, as many moviegoers were disappointed, but it looks like Snyder is mixing things up and taking a slightly different approach for this one. Have at it. Here's the first Comic-Con trailer for Zack Snyder's Justice League, direct from WB's »

Star Trek Beyond: To Boldly Go Where Many, Many Summer Movies Have Gone Before

22 July 2016 8:39 AM, PDT | FilmSchoolRejects.com | See recent FilmSchoolRejects news »

All the best parts of a summer movie, all the worst parts of a Star Trek film.

It takes a little bit of guess work to figure out the population of the USS Enterprise in Star Trek Beyond. According to special features on the previous films, there are about 1,100 individuals on board the ship at any given time. While this might seem high to fans of the original series — whose Enterprise had a population of about 400 at the time of the show — it does seem to align with the version of the Star Trek universe that J.J. Abrams created. In the first Star Trek film, for example, Bruce Greenwood’s Christopher Pike credits George Kirk with saving over 800 lives with his quick thinking as the captain of the USS Kelvin. As an early montage shows, the Enterprise is a ship teeming with life.

Or at least for the first thirty minutes. If »
