Hollywood actress Kate Hudson has vowed to stop sharing details of her personal life with the press after years of struggling to keep quiet.
The Fool's Gold star has endured a string of high profile on/off romances since splitting from ex-husband, rocker Chris Robinson, in 2006.
And the 29-year-old star insists she's learned from her short-lived relationships with former flames, including cyclist Lance Armstrong and troubled actor Owen Wilson.
She says, "I've learned that things are better left private until you're actually planning the wedding. It's so hard for me, because I'm so open, to hold back. I could really just go on forever about this stuff.
"We can talk about Chris (until) the dogs come home. I married Chris, I had a baby with Chris, Chris will be in my life for the rest of my life."
But Hudson adds there is one male in her life she will always love: her four-year-old son, Ryder.
And she insists she doesn't regret having to make sacrifices to raise her son with Robinson.
She adds: "Am I gonna look back and say, 'God, I wish I could have gone to that... that... concert? I'd rather be listening to my son sing songs. I'd rather be watching him sleep."

Actress Kate Hudson has vowed to support her son Ryder in whatever career path he chooses, because she would hate to crush his dreams.
The Fool's Gold star enjoyed a relaxed childhood growing up with her actress mother Goldie Hawn and her partner Kurt Russell, and she intends to recreate a similar upbringing for her four-year-old son.
She says, "If Ryder came to me and said, 'Mom, I want to pump gas better than anybody who has ever pumped gas', I wouldn't say, 'No, you're going to be a doctor'.
"It would be taking somebody's dream and passion and squashing it. The one thing I've learnt with Ryder is that the second you have children they're immediately who they are, and your role as a parent is to nurture that and try to at least keep them on the right path, keep them grounded and give them unconditional love."

Matthew McConaughey's publicist has slammed reports the actor went against his advice to sign a magazine deal for exclusive photos of newborn son Levi.
The Fool's Gold star's girlfriend Camila Alves gave birth to Levi Alves McConaughey at a Los Angeles hospital on Monday, and the couple were reported to have landed an exclusive $3 million (GBP1.5 million) scoop with Ok! magazine for the first pictures.
The agreement was also said to include the baby's first Christmas with the family and grant the magazine first rights to wedding photos, should McConaughey and Alves walk down the aisle.
McConaughey's representative Alan Nierob was allegedly angry at the actor for agreeing to the deal, because he wanted the couple to hold out for a better offer.
A source tells the New York Post's PageSix, "His publicist, Alan Nierob, begged him not to work with (Ok!) because he's considered an A-lister.
"But Matthew hired money man Todd Shemarya, who brokered the Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie $4 million People (magazine) deal."
However, Nierob insists the reports are false, saying, "I have never had any conversation with my client about this matter."

Kate Hudson enjoyed an unusual Father's Day this year, spending it in the company of her ex-husband Chris Robinson, their young son Ryder, her new beau Lance Armstrong and his three kids.
The Fool's Gold actress stepped out in Brooklyn, New York for brunch on Sunday and was joined by her lovers past and present.
Hudson split from the Black Crowes rocker in 2006 after six years of marriage, and began a romance with cycling ace Armstrong earlier this year - although neither star has spoken publicly about the relationship.
But Armstrong made sure his own children - Luke, eight, and six-year-old twins Isabelle and Grace - didn't miss out on spending the day with their dad, and brought them along to join in the fun, according to the New York Daily News.

Hollywood couple Kate Hudson and Owen Wilson are reportedly engaged - after the Fool's Gold star was spotted sporting a diamond ring on her wedding finger on Thursday.
The blonde beauty was seen wearing the huge sparkler outside a Boston, Massachusetts restaurant , fuelling speculation the on-off couple is taking their relationship to the next level.
The pair met on the set of 2006 movie You, Me + Dupree and were romantically linked later that year, after Hudson split from her husband of six years, The Black Crowes rocker Chris Robinson.
The couple parted ways in June 2007, just two months before Wilson's alleged suicide attempt, with rumours claiming the end of their relationship was the reason behind the attempt on his life.
However, in recent months the stars have appeared to rekindle their love, and spent Easter together in March in Miami, Florida.
They were also spotted enjoying a lunch date with Wilson's parents on Hudson's 29th birthday last month, where onlookers described the pair as "lovey-dovey".
A source tells Britain's News Of The World newspaper, "Kate supported Owen during his low patch and that proved to him she's the woman he wants to be with for ever."
The source adds, "The engagement is a natural step for them both."

British comedy Three And Out has flopped at the box office, failing to reach the top ten in its first week of release.
The movie follows the story of a train driver - played by Mackenzie Crook - who discovers he will be fired if he has three fatal accidents within a one-month period.
But the film - directed by Jonathan Gershfield - has attracted controversy in the U.K, with drivers of London's Underground trains picketing the premiere, claiming it trivialises suicide.
The movie has taken just ($378 908) GBP189,454 to open at number 12.
Forgetting Sarah Marshall - starring Kristen Bell and Russell Brand - topped the chart, taking $3.5 million (GBP1.75 million) in three days.
Jessica Alba's The Eye is in second place with takings of $1.4 million (GBP704,655), while Kevin Spacey's gambling drama 21 dropped from the top spot to number three.
Kate Hudson and Matthew McConaughey's treasure-hunting adventure comedy Fool's Gold was in fourth place, down from number two taking ($952,532) GBP476,266.

Actor Matthew McConaughey struggled to get a good night's sleep while working on latest movie Fool's Gold in Australia, because he lived in constant fear of snake attacks.
The Hollywood hunk isn't usually afraid of the reptiles and even kept some as pets during his stay Down Under.
But he hated finding unexpected visitors in his bedroom and was always on edge when night fell.
He says, "It's amazing how quickly you shower when you think there might be a python in your room.
"There were heaps of weird creatures around in Queensland when we were shooting Fool's Gold. I had an eight foot (2.4 meter) python in the coconut tree in my back yard and a six foot (1.82 meter) python in my shed. It's one thing having pythons in your garden and knowing they're there; it's a lot more unsettling knowing they're somewhere about but you don't know where. So I was going through every closet and checking under the bed.
"Every time I took a bath I got nervous. I'd be washing my hair with my eyes closed and be thinking, 'What am I not seeing right now?' With pythons about, you quickly get used to sleeping with one eye open."
Snakes weren't the only creatures McConaughey and his Fool's Gold co-star Kate Hudson had to contend with in Australia - they also had to be careful to avoid the giant killer jellyfish iricongi while shooting underwater scenes for the adventure movie.

Hollywood actress Kate Hudson was almost forced to delay filming on new movie Fool's Gold, after her young son Ryder gave her a black eye on the eve of the movie's shoot.
The Almost Famous star admits the four-year-old - from her marriage to Black Crowes rocker Chris Robinson - is a troubled sleeper, and when he climbs into bed with her, she is often left with injuries from his constant "thrashing".
So she is thankful to spend some time away from the youngster, because it means she is able to get a decent night's sleep.
She says, "I can have a deep sleep on the plane - something I can never do at home because Ryder comes into bed with me every night.
"Ryder is such a thrasher, he falls out of bed at least once a week. One night - before the first day of shooting in Australia - he'd hit my eye so hard with his heel that I thought I was going to have a shiner (black eye) in the morning.
"Not great to turn up on the first day of work with a black eye. I put ice on it all night! I woke up every hour because it kept melting - otherwise I would have been a complete mess!"

Fool's Gold star Kate Hudson is so comfortable with her ex-husband Chris Robinson, they hit bars together to check out beautiful women.
The Almost Famous beauty split from The Black Crowes rocker in 2006 after six-years of marriage, citing irreconcilable differences on divorce papers filed in August 2007.
But the pair - who have a four-year-old son Ryder - remained firm friends throughout their turbulent relationship - with Hudson insisting Robinson will always be her "biggest love".
And the 28-year-old blonde has warned potential suitors - stating her close contact with ex-husband Robinson is here to stay.
She tells Britain's Eve magazine, "Chris and I are so cool. I'm really lucky. We share houses in New York. No matter what happens, Chris was my biggest love - we had this amazing son and we both love each other.
"It just didn't work out. Whoever ends up in my life has to know that Chris will be in my family forever. I look at women with Chris now. I can sit in a bar with him and we say, 'She's cute.'"

Hollywood star Kate Hudson is glad she is a strict mother - because her son Ryder has become the perfect child.
The Almost Famous beauty chose to strongly discipline her child - with ex-husband Chris Robinson - because her mother Goldie Hawn let her run wild as a kid.
And the Fool's Gold star thinks her tough tactics have paid dividends because the four-year-old is so well behaved.
She says, "When I had Ryder, suddenly there were a lot of rules. I'm much stricter about things like manners than I thought I'd be. My mom wasn't strict at all.
"He had a couple (of tantrums). He had a couple and I would just stare at him and wait. He would realise I wasn't doing anything - unaware I trying desperately to remain calm inside - and he would stop. It worked."

Hollywood veteran Donald Sutherland was forced to turn down the chance of playing real life son Kiefer's fictional dad in hit TV show 24 - because he was too busy.
The actor was tied up working on new movie Fool's Gold when Kiefer approached him about the role, which ultimately went to Babe star James Cromwell.
However, "sad" Donald desperately tried to pave a way for him to portray the father of Kiefer's counter-terrorism agent Jack Bauer at a later date - by making a far-fetched plot proposal.
The 72-year-old - an avid viewer of the action series - says, "He asked me to play his father but I couldn't because I was doing (Fool's Gold). That was sad.
"When it turned out I couldn't do it, I said to Kiefer, 'Why don't you have it turn out that James is your stepfather? And then I come in..."
