Did You Know?

Dennis Miller:I think Hillary has got a good chance and I only see one guy out on that horizon who could stop her. And that of course is Bill. I think she's going to get close to that job, he's going to get a little freaky and he's going to do it again.See more »

I guess it depends on your perspective, 25 November 2006
Author: jasd1899 from United States

Funnylookingmonkey is looking at this from a decidedly liberal perspective. He/she should not be so presumptuous as to think their perspective is fact.

It is undeniable that Miller's slant has shifted from more liberal to more conservative, and what amazed me was that he has done something I've never heard any other comic do, including "conservative comedians" like Brad Stine, and that is attack liberals with jokes and satire and defend conservatives and still make it funny.

For some reason it either hasn't existed or it has been elusive....but Miller is the first to figure it out.

I had more laugh out loud moments with "All In" than any other show he has done....but the right leaning rhetoric wasn't what was funny, in fact, the rhetoric actually served as the set ups to punchlines that were actually very apolitical.

For the sake of full disclosure I would describe myself as a conservative....I do, however, as an avid comedy fan from childhood and amateur comic, consider myself pretty fair minded when it comes to comedy and what is funny (I am a David Cross fan, and he could be considered the yin to Miller's yang...THAT is how even handed I can be).

That said I highly recommend "All In"...I think it is groundbreaking for comedy...whether it is recognized as such or not.
