Episode 17: Aargh!/Rock Bottom
TVGuy318 June 2010
Warning: Spoilers
These episodes are pretty good, especially Rock Bottom.

"Aargh!" SpongeBob, Patrick and Mr. Krabs look for the Flying Dutchman's buried treasure. This is a pretty funny episode. Some gags are laugh-out loud funny, including Patrick not reading a compass right and Mr. Krabs's map. 9.5/10

"Rock Bottom" SpongeBob and Patrick take the wrong bus home from an amusement park and end up in a mysterious city called Rock Bottom. This episode is extremely funny with all of SpongeBob's harebrained attempts to get back to Bikini Bottom not working at all. The Don't Run After A Bus gag is also hilarious. 10/10

Whole Episode: 9.75/10

From buried treasure to an entire buried city

Warning: Spoilers
Arrgh! - When Spongebob and Patrick bring a board game to the Krusty Krab, Mr. Krabs joins in and quickly becomes obsessed with it. It spirals into Mr. Krabs creating a mock treasure hunt and eventually they do find treasure. This is Mr. Krabs being greedy done right. He bosses the boys around and tries keeping the treasure for himself only to get what's coming in the end as Spongebob and Patrick get gold but he doesn't. There's also plenty of gags such as Patrick misreading the compass in a hilarious fashion and is very quotable as always. (8/10)

Rock Bottom - Ah, Rock Bottom. Perhaps one of the most famous episodes of the first season. This golden episode involves Spongebob and Patrick accidentally taking the wrong bus and ending up lost in another town. Quotable doesn't even begin to describe it. It's got atmosphere, it has gags, and it has Spongebob trying to survive on his own which, in moderation, can be a lot of fun. It's no secret why this episode is a fan favorite. (10/10)

Overall - Once again, another classic duo with one amazing episode back-to-back with one that's still great in succession with each other. Another fine piece of early Spongebob Squarepants!

Score: 10 + 8 = 18/20 -> 9/10 Would highly recommend.

2 very good, classic SpongeBob Episodes

Not much to mention here.

Rock Bottom is by far one of my favorite Episodes from Season 1, so this one's a 10/10 for me.

Arrgh! Is a pretty strong episode as well, which I'd probably rate 9/10.

Overall I like the vibe of both of these episodes, which is a slightly more ''scary'' direction than your average Spongebob episode, especially in Rock Bottom but both are packed with some very funny and iconic jokes!

Both ep were great in there own way, classic sponge. The rock bottom ep was especially great, even the fishes that lived down there were different which I like they added.

Arrgh! - 5/10 Rock Bottom - 9/10

Averaged out at 7/10

I didn't expect to put an episode from Season 1 this low, but Arrgh! Is just kind of an average episode to me.
