In the French version, the name Homer gives to his pet lobster is 'Homard', the French word for 'lobster' (the 'D' is silent). It creates an interesting pun as Homer introduces the lobster as a new member of the family 'Homard Simpson', which sounds almost like 'Homer Simpson'. See more »

'Lisa Gets an A' is a personal favorite, partly because it's a Lisa episode (in which she learns a very important lesson about cheating . . . kinda), and also because the Homer-doing-something-stupid storyline is hysterical. Pinchy the lobster is a great prop/side character, and the fact that Homer grows fond of his food offers plenty of humor.
It's got everything: comedy, Ralph, Gill, even a withering look at Springfield Elementary's decrepit state.
