It was reported in multiple newspapers that The Everly Brothers were due to appear on this episode, but were pulled with just a few days' notice.
The Aberdeen Press and Journal (24th April 1991) wrote that: "Pop legends the Everly Brothers were "stunned" last night after being dropped from Terry Wogan's TV show In a row over a medley of their hit songs. Brothers Don and Phil were to have recorded their appearance yesterday for Friday. But they were dropped when they said they would sing only two songs. The BBC wanted them to sing three. A Wogan spokesman said; "Two songs do not constitute a medley!" Promoter Mr Derek Block said: "The situation is ridiculous. They were given three and a half minutes and decided to sing a medley of two songs - Dream and Bye Bye Love - which are chiselled into music history like stone.
"But the BBC said they had to do three songs and just bounced them off the programme. How could they be so presumptuous? These boys have done more in 30 years than those people could do in 100."
The Wogan spokesman said; "It was agreed a month ago with the promoter that the Everly Brothers would perform any three of their biggest songs as a medley.""
