Ray Fillet was originally intended to be featured in this episode. Ray Fillet is a character created by Mirage Studios artist Ryan Brown, who appeared in the Archie comics that are based off of this series. Model sheets were drawn up showing the comic incarnation of the character but when Fred Wolf ignored the Man Ray Archie origins and made his character a villain the creators of Ray Fillet, Ryan Brown and Stephen Murphy, protested forcing the substitution of an aquatic mutant named Ray.
