Goofs

When the Robot Mafia are on the Planet Express Ship they find that a robot is listed on the crew; meanwhile, Bender is trying not to let the mafia know that he is the robot on that list. Problem 1: the crew roster would have shown his name. Problem 2: the Crippled Kid robot delivers Bender's cut to Planet Express' office. Either way, the mafia would have known that he was part of the crew. See more »

Leela goes blind and Bender joins the Robot Mafia
27 April 2012 | by (United Kingdom) – See all my reviews

This episode opens with the crew going to watch Elzar's cooking show being recorded; Bender encourages Enzar to knock it up a notch with another blast from his spice weasel; unfortunately he gets distracted and accidentally gives Leela a blast of spice in her eye. While she is in hospital Elzar comes to visit and invites them to have a meal in his restaurant... what he doesn't say is that he expects them to pay for it! Unable to pay Bender ends up working there but soon quits when offered a job working as a hired goon for the Robot Mafia. He enjoys the work until he learns that their next job will be stealing Zuban cigars from the Planet Express ship.

This episode had some great moments; Elzar's scenes were good and the Robot Mafia provide some decent laughs although Clamps was a one joke character. The jokes about Leela continuing to think she could do her job while blind and wearing an eye-patch did go on a bit too long although the final joke when she finally gets her sight back was really funny! The biggest laugh though came from Hermes when he told Zoidberg that he'd be paying for damage caused by Leela... it was funny because it was so unjustified!
