Trivia

One of Al's brides-to-be is a Yithian, a creation of the American horror writer H.P. Lovecraft. The Yithians, or members of the Great Race, are cone-shaped beings with four tentacle-like limbs, two of which end in claws while another ends in an oddly shaped head. They are time-traveling aliens interested primarily in knowledge. The Yithians are described in Lovecraft's "The Shadow Out of Time". See more »

The One With The Cyclops Fiancé...
25 June 2015 | by (Australia) – See all my reviews

I love this episode. It's so funny. I love the inside jokes about Al and Peggy Bundy, and I love Leela's reaction to Alcazar's lies.

In this episode, Leela finds a planet where Alcazar, the only other Cyclops in the universe, lives. They fall in love and get engaged. But on the day of the wedding, Leela discovers that Alcazar also intended to marry four other women the same day, and that he isn't a Cyclops. He morphs into the forms of races so he can marry their women. But why would he ever have all the weddings on the same day? That's just dumb.

Fun Fact: Leela, who is voiced by Katey Sagal, dresses up as Peggy from Married With Children, who Katey Sagal played. She also calls Alcazar Al, in reference to her on screen husband, Al Bundy.

Overall, I give this episode an 8 out of 10, which in my ratings book is: Awesome.
