"Oo-Oo, I Do" was a one hour broadcast that was originally preempted by a Jimmy Carter speech, losing the audience it might have had with so much promotion, and the last of seven multi-part episodes. Working five nights straight with Mary Johnson (Irene Arranga) in her uncle's stationary store has Arnold wondering if the two of them are going steady. Bad news crops up when Horshack learns that his mother has remarried (to a blackjack dealer) and wants him to leave Brooklyn and join her to live in Atlantic City. Principal Woodman signs the papers to have Arnold transferred, but he's determined to stay in school and work even harder. Mary is devastated after learning from someone other than Arnold, but in class right in front of the other Sweathogs she receives an offer she cannot refuse...and accepts. Both Kotter and Barbarino are absent, but Gabe would appear in the final two episodes.
