Not A Lot To Say, Really.
8 April 2006 | by See all my reviews

I have played this game on PC-DVD ROM, and there really isn't much to say. Because the previous Harry Potter games on PC were exciting, because you could explore Hogwarts in your spare time, collecting cards and socialising, and doing smaller tasks. At least you could get to your characters close up. But now, there are 'wonderous' 3-D graphics, which would be perfect, however, it would seem to me that EA Games just decided to spend more of their time on the graphics than the game play, for the last two Harry Potter games released for the PC!! But in this one, you cannot zoom in and see your characters, it's all done with you guiding your characters from a distance. You can't use your mouse anymore, you need to use a game pad or your keyboard, huh, and I thought that the world of games was improving. There is hardly any game play, because once you have finished doing one task you go straight to the title screen to do another one, no more exploring to get there. It just seems that it's training after training after training, the three Triwizard tasks and the game is all about the ultimate showdown at the end. There are invisible walls and it is difficult to move the characters about at all!! If this is gaming from now on, I can't say I think much of this one, whilst the graphics are very exciting, the game play let me down, after seeing the other three games in the series. I have put my copy up on ebay.
