Plot; A young man learns that he is actually a prince and must find thirteen sacred treasures to stop the growing threat of Dark Water taking over his world.

There are not one, not two, but three deaths in the first five minutes of this 26 year old children's cartoon. That it's a Hanna-Barbera production only makes it that much more shocking. The tone here is a tad darker and more serious than your typical animated fare from the era, and married with impressive visuals and a fun pirate/fantasy mashup, it makes for an agreeable 22 minutes of swashbuckling animated adventure.

  • Began life as a five-part miniseries, with the character Niddler

voiced by Roddy McDowell (eventually re-dubbed and then replaced by Frank Welker). Prolific voice actors like Peter Cullen (Optimus Prime from Transformers) and Brock Peters (Darth Vader from the Star Wars radio specials) are joined by some well known Hollywood actors such as Tim Curry, Héctor Elizondo and Dan O'Herlihy.

  • Had a short-lived comic book series, toy line and a tie-in video game

on the Super Nintendo and Sega Genesis platforms.
