Rapper 50 Cent has ditched his recording name for new movie Home Of The Brave, because he fears his music fans will be disappointed with the character he plays. The star combines his alias with his real name Curtis Jackson in publicity material for the war movie, which also stars Samuel L. Jackson. He says, "I think when people hear 50 Cent they directly associate it with the music and the aggressive content in the music. I think they might be disappointed when they see my character and he doesn't have the same aggressive edge that they're familiar with from 50 Cent, the music. So I told them to use my real name but put 50 Cent in the middle."

One day after a movie production company filming in Spokane and faced with a strike decided to pull up stakes and head for Vancouver, it began returning to Spokane. Television station KXLY reported Wednesday that the production company, North by Northwest, had reached an agreement with the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees (IATSE) that would allow production of the movie Home of the Brave to resume. The film stars Samuel L. Jackson, 50 Cent, Christina Ricci and Jessica Biel. Under the agreement, North by Northwest will remain a non-union entity, while creating a separate company, Home of the Brave Productions, Inc., which will sign a contract with IATSE.

Demonstrating a novel form of runaway production, the makers of Home of the Brave, in which Samuel L. Jackson and 50 Cent play veterans of the war in Iraq, have pulled up stakes in Spokane, WA after four days of shooting and crossed the border to complete the film in Vancouver. The Associated Press reported that the production had been hit by a strike by the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees (IATSE) because producers of the low-budget ($12 million) film had employed both union and non-union crew members.
