Panda Love!
7 January 2015 | by (United Kingdom) – See all my reviews

There is NOTHING to like about this episode at all. It starts with Bart witnessing his teacher and principal making out while he hides in a cupboard. Next we see our titular family singing in a restaurant after they fail to pay for food. It's a downhill spiral from there.

The plot sees Homer turn to his boss Mr Burns for more cash but Burns will only give it to him if he becomes his new "Prank Monkey" which leads to Homer eating an immeasurably valuable comic in front of The Comic Book Guy and lying on the floor in public pretending to be a baby. If that's not disgusting enough for you try what follows this when Homer is tasked with pretending to be a female panda at the zoo and being put into an enclosure with a hormonal male panda. That's right: Homer Simpson just got (implicitly) raped by a panda. Yep, that happened.

Needless to say, that scene has helped propel this episode -- deservingly so -- onto many peoples' lists of worst episodes of this show. The Simpsons would Jump The Shark many times over its very long run but never again would it happen in such a distasteful manner. Rob Lazebnik wrote this episode's script and let's just say that there's a reason he'd not be back for more than eight years. This is an episode to avoid. Watch it at your peril. You have been warned!
