  Evelyn Martin : [as she tries to leave]  please I have to go now

  Wayne Palmer : [Grabs her arm]  tell me what I need

  Wayne Palmer : [Yells]  talk to me

  Evelyn Martin : [after taking a breath]  they kidnapped my little girl: they kidnapped my baby. They said they would give Amy back to me if I gave them the evidence

  Evelyn Martin : I have proof about everything's that's happened today

  Wayne Palmer : Listen, even if you turn over this evidence, they're not just going to give back your daughter and let you go that's not what they do. Now you've got to trust me, please talk to me

  Aaron Pierce : Ma'am, if I may, Mr. Palmer's right. You know too much: they'll kill you both

  Evelyn Martin : [to Wayne]  I'll give you the evidence I have if you get me back my daughter

• Wayne Palmer : [Over the phone]  are you alright? I just heard about that explosion at the gas plant

  Jack Bauer : Yeah I'm fine. I wish I could tell you all the people responsible for your brother's assassination are in custody but I can't

  Jack Bauer : Ok I want to be on that call when it comes in. CTU will provide operational support, we're going to need a place to meet

  Wayne Palmer : I passed by an old barn about a mile west of the retreat off service road nineteen

  Jack Bauer : [Confirming the location]  service road nineteen, I'll be there in twenty minutes

  Wayne Palmer : [Before hanging up]  see you there

• Evelyn Martin : I got a call from a man an hour ago and told me he had my daughter: if I ever wanted to see her alive again, I would have to follow his exact instructions

  Wayne Palmer : Did he give you proof he had her?

  Evelyn Martin : I talked to her, she sounded so scared

  Evelyn Martin : I couldn't, he said if I did, he would know

  Evelyn Martin : I knew him, he and the First Lady were friends, and he was truly a wonderful man

  Wayne Palmer : Yes he was. I still can't accept talking about him in the past tense. I just can't believe he's gone

  Evelyn Martin : I told him this information because I trusted him. I never thought for a moment it would endanger him. I have your brother's blood on my hands and for that I will never forgive myself

  Wayne Palmer : You did nothing wrong

• Aaron Pierce : [Referring to Wayne and Evelyn]  I'm extremely uncomfortable sending the two of you off without protection

  Wayne Palmer : We've been over this: if you leave the compound again, we're going to risk raising suspicion

  Aaron Pierce : I know sir, I don't like it

  Vice President Hal Gardner : Wayne? this is a surprise, we didn't know you were coming. Are you here to see the President?

  Wayne Palmer : No

  Aaron Pierce : Mr. Palmer came here to give me a memento from his brother: a service medal

  Wayne Palmer : Sorry, I knew you and the President were going to deal with this crisis today and I don't you to feel obliged to see me

  Vice President Hal Gardner : It would never ever be an obligation on our part Wayne, especially under the circumstances. I just want you to know how sorry I am. Your brother was one of the greatest men to ever occupy the Office: his loss to all of us can't be expressed in words

  Wayne Palmer : Thank you Mr. Vice President

  Vice President Hal Gardner : And I know the President would like to express his condolences to you personally

  Wayne Palmer : That means a lot sir but unfortunately I have a plane to catch. I'm flying David's body back to Washington

  Vice President Hal Gardner : [Shaking hands]  I understand, safe trip

  Wayne Palmer : Thank you sir

  Aaron Pierce : [to Wayne]  I'll walk you out sir

• Jack Bauer : I'm going to go with Evelyn in her car to make the exchange. I want you to find somewhere safe and stay there until this is over

  Wayne Palmer : No, I'm going with you

  Jack Bauer : I can't allow that: this is going to be extremely dangerous

  Wayne Palmer : I was a Marine

  Jack Bauer : I know that and you never saw combat. There is a big difference between training to kill someone and actually having to do it. I can't put you in harm's way: out of respect to your brother, your family needs you now

  Wayne Palmer : These are the people who killed my brother. They shot a bullet right through his neck and he died in my arms, put yourself in my position, could you just walk away?
