To quote Herman's Hermits, it was a little bit of a case of “second verse same as the first” last night on NBC. 'America's Got Talent' Results Recap: The Final 7 Semifinalists Revealed

26 August 2015 12:17 PM, PDT | buddytv.com | See recent BuddyTV news »

The quarterfinal round of America's Got Talent Season 10 comes to its official end Wednesday with the selection of the final seven acts joining the Top 21 semifinalists, and the varying opinions around the web world lead me to believe we may be in for some surprises in the results.

That's not to say it's not abundantly clear to me who should and shouldn't be moving on, but if the other recaps and assessments I've been reading apply to the general public (or at least Agt voters) as a whole, then I might just be in the minority.

‘America’s Got Talent’ Ratings Steady, ‘Extreme Weight Loss’ & ‘5th Grader’ Down As NBC Wins Night

Howie Mandel had to make an on-air apology last night for some ill-considered remarks about the entertainment value of bulimia but that didn't seem to affect America's Got Talent (2.1/8) very much. With Mandel's regret, which he repeated online, and another round of live performances on Tuesday, Agt dipped 9% among adults 18-49 from its August 18 show. The highest rated and most watched (10.20 million) show of the night, Agt could see adjustments in later numbers, as it… »

Magicians Penn & Teller to return to UK TV with Channel 5's Fool Us in Vegas

26 August 2015 4:03 AM, PDT | Digital Spy | See recent Digital Spy - TV news news »

World famous illusionists Penn & Teller are heading back to UK TV screens with Penn & Teller: Fool Us in Vegas now set to air on Channel 5.

The magic mythbusters previously aired a very, very similar show on ITV, then called just Penn & Teller: Fool Us, but it was cancelled in 2012.

Since then it's lived on thanks to Us channel The CW recommissioning it for second and third seasons.

The premise, if you're not already in the know, is simple: magicians from around the world perform their tricks in front of Penn & Teller, and if the experts can't work out how they did it, they get to be part of their official Las Vegas show.

Jonathan Ross hosts, introducing and interviewing the newcomers before and after they attempt to wow the crowd and/or the variety entertainment veterans.

Penn & Teller: Fool Us in Vegas will hit UK TV screens at some point this autumn. »

Howie Mandel Apologizes for Insensitive Eating Disorder Comments: "I Made Light of Bulimia"

Sowie, says Howie. America's Got Talent judge Howie Mandel apologized on Tuesday, Aug. 25, after his ill-conceived joke about eating disorders during the show's live broadcast sparked backlash on social media. Mandel, 59, praised fan favorite Stevie Starr — "The Regurgitator" — a professional who swallows objects whole and well, regurgitates the items. Only Mandel's praise fell flat. "This would probably come out wrong," Mandel told Starr during the broadcast. "But you, sir, make bulimia entertaining." Immediately, fans reacted with outrage, lashing out against Mandel for his insensitive comments. Mandel [...] »

'America's Got Talent' Predictions: Who Are the Final Members of the Top 21?

25 August 2015 10:00 PM, PDT | buddytv.com | See recent BuddyTV news »

The live rounds of America's Got Talent went out not with but a whimper. Maybe I was just in a mood while watching the third and final live rounds but I couldn't help but feel that America's Got Talent had saved its least for last. The contestants weren't bad, you don't make it this far in the competition by being bad. (Well... DADitude did make this far.) Ok let me revise my statement. You don't make it this far in America's Got Talent if your act isn't named DADitude.

A lot of the non-DADitude acts were just a smidge off. There were at least one or two flaws in the majority of acts that could very well prove disastrous to their voting counts. There were a couple of stand-out acts as well but more duds than souring successes all around. I could easily see one or two of the acts »

The America's Got Talent season 10 quarterfinals concluded with yet another mixed-bag night as the third group of 12 took to the stage at Radio City Music Hall. Some of the acts were just bad, (including one that got four X's from the judges), but a handful of true contenders emerged. While it remains to be seen if they have what it takes to lay claim to the crown, there were clear winners and losers to come out of this bunch. And the middle isn't as muddled as it's been before. Howie Mandel Apologizes for Calling Bulimia ''Entertaining'' on America's Got Talent

Howie Mandel is doing damage control. The America's Got Talent judge is apologizing after making a comment that wasn't well-recieved during tonight's live telecast. It all started when fan-favorite Stevie Starr, who is known as a "professional reguritator"—for his talent of swallowing random objects whole, and managing to bring them back up in one piece—was being praised by Mandel on the show. Admitting that his remark would "probably come out wrong," the comedian declared, "You, sir, make bulimia entertaining." Oof. There wasn't an immediate reaction from the audience, but it seems as though Mandel caught wind of backlash on social media, »

'America's Got Talent' Recap: Oddball Acts Steal the Last Quarterfinal Show

25 August 2015 1:15 PM, PDT | buddytv.com | See recent BuddyTV news »

And then there were 12 ... quarterfinalists left on the 10th season of America's Got Talent. The final group before the oddly-numbered semifinals is set to hit the stage (and air) to perform for your votes, and it is free of both judge and guest judge golden buzzer recipients (though there are two wildcards).

And like the others before it, it seems rather easy to stack the acts, leaving only wiggle room in the middle and space for a letdown in determining who joins the Top 21.

'America's Got Talent' predictions: Are we underestimating mentalist Oz Pearlman?'

25 August 2015 8:27 AM, PDT | Gold Derby | See recent Gold Derby news »

Mentalist Oz Pearlman was an early favorite on Season 10 of "America's Got Talent," however he doesn't even crack Gold Derby's Top 10 for who will win. It's fun and easy, so start now by scrolling down and predicting which seven acts will advance to the next round. -Break- Who will win 'America's Got Talent'? See exclusive predictions I believe that one of the reasons Pearlman ranks so low on our winner's chart is because he hasn't been seen on the show since Week 3 of Judge Cuts; that was way back on July 28. In the past month, viewers (and our odds-makers) have simply forgotten about him. But that should all change when Pearlman takes the stage at Radio City Music Hall Tuesday night during the third live show on NBC. »
