In India, a young woman is kidnapped, her young male companion beaten within an inch of his life. He is working class Sikh, Surinder Singh, she his wife, the former Davinder Samra, a Sikh-Canadian who he met when she visited India a year earlier for her cousin's wedding. For both, it was love at first sight. However, Davinder comes from a traditional Sikh family, who made their fortune in Canada. Her parents, who knew nothing of Surinder when Surinder and Davinder eloped, were seeking a suitable husband for her. As the story unfolds leading to the kidnapping/beating and the subsequent investigation by the local police and Crime Investigation Division, the power of money and of Sikh family honor is shown. Murder Unveiled
27 July 2006 | by (Canada) – See all my reviews

What is the price of pride? In many cultures and passed down through many families, is the importance of Pride. What is pride? Is Pride so important that one would actually order the murder of their own flesh and blood? I know too well how many families have argued over, "How will it look." or "What will the family think or our friends?". How about following through with what is right? Jaswinder Kaur Sidhu's parents have failed greatly at the gift and blessing of being parents. What is even more disturbing is the price they have paid for Pride.

This movie is fantastic at outlining the plight of Jaswinder and how cold and inhumane those closest to you can be.

God be with you Jaswinder...justice will be yours!!
