Before deciding to produce "Redefining Normal" himself, Anthony Bruce, writer of the script, was able to get his screenplay read by execs at Mirimax Films, Imagine Entertainment, Icon Productions, Spelling Entertainment and the Fox Entertainment Group. The project was "passed on" by all of these but then Anthony was able to get the script sold to an independent film producer in Los Angeles. Before he signed off on all his rights to the property, Anthony decided against the sale and moved forward with his own vision.
