Storyline

Hector and Kilwillie finally reach the day they have long been waiting for - opening a barrel of whiskey that has been aging for 30 years. When Archie gets wind of it however, he rightfully claim the prized nectar as property of the estate. Despite his best efforts at protecting the precious drink, Archie finds he may have met his match when Hector and Killwillie set about trying to reclaim what they see as rightfully theirs. Archie also sets off a bit of a firestorm when he advertises for an estate ranger. As the fifth generation ghillie at Glenbogle estate, Golly MacKenzie sees that as his job and despite Archie's assurances that the two don't conflict, Golly feels unwanted. Soon Archie has three applicants for the position in the form of Golly, Duncan and an old friend Fergal MacClure, a professional environmental scientist. Archie may have more to deal with when Katrina seems smitten with the very handsome Fergal. Written by garykmcd

Did You Know?

Goofs

The keg of whiskey is what is called a half-keg and holds 15-1/2 gallons. Using the weight of water, 8-1/2 lbs per gallon, the contents alone would weigh over 130 lbs. The wooden keg will weigh about another 20 lbs making the total around 150 lbs. There is no way that anyone is going to be picking up a keg as easily as Archie and Duncan do. See more »

Quotes

[first lines]
Kilwillie: Right, old man. The great day dawns.
Hector: Absolutely. But you know, Kilwillie, I had this strange feeling.
Kilwillie: You're not ill, are you?
Hector: Sweating palms, palpitations. Inability to concentrate, uncontrollable shaking.
Kilwillie: Nothing out of the ordinary there, then.
Hector: Absolutely not. Come on.
