I've only started to watch the novella and though it's nice and natural and so Brazilian and 10 times better than anything fro Argentina or Mexico, it gives me an alarming sense of deja-vu - I've already seen it all, done better, in "Mulheres Apaixonadas". I heard that "Mulheres..." was supposed to be Manoel Carlos' last novella and it shows - "Paginas..." gives you the feeling that the author took familiar characters and plots and changed their names and nothing more - the same brothers separated at birth, the same husband overshadowed by his wife played by Marcos Caruso, the same bosses daughter in love with the son, who in turn falls in love with the same simple and poor girl, the same romance between cousins,the same dead young mother who appears as a ghost and the same (brilliant, but still the same) evil Regiane Alves.
I'm going to continue watch it, off course, but won't be disappointed to miss an episode, because I've already seen it all.
