Storyline

The Omicrons threaten to destroy the earth if they can't see the last episode of a lost 20th Century television series "Single Female Lawyer" starring an unmarried human female, who wears very short miniskirts, struggling to succeed in a human man's world. Because the last episode was destroyed by someone spilling beer on the transmitter (think Fry), the crew from Planet Express must deliver their version of "Single Female Lawyer". Trivia

The broadcast of "Single Female Lawyer" takes 1000 years to reach Omicron Persei 8, but the Omicronians are able to travel to Earth in much less time. In the DVD commentary for this episode, executive producer David X. Cohen explains that the writers had decided that the speed of light would be increased in the future and that massive particles would still not be able to travel faster than light, but that electromagnetic waves from the past would still travel at their regular, lower speed. The One Where Aliens Invade...
8 September 2015 | by (Australia) – See all my reviews

I love this episode. It is absolutely one of my all-time favorite episodes. Not just from this season, but from the entire series.

In this episode, the aliens of Omicron Persei 8 come down to Earth, and threaten to destroy the planet, and kill everyone, if they cannot see the ending of the Season Finale of "Single Female Lawyer", which was a show from the 20th Century, that has only just made its way to their home planet. Fry was actually the one who split a drink on the broadcasting machine in 1999, and that's the reason why the show cut out. Fry, and his friends must reenact the episode, so the aliens won't harm them.

First appearance of: The Omicron Persei 8 aliens.

Best part of the episode: The Omicron Persei 8 aliens.

Overall, I give this episode a 10 out of 10, which in my ratings book is: Freaking Ridonkulous.
