I honestly didn't know what to make of this movie. It initially seemed interesting because of its setting and milieu - the dynamics among stage actors in a small off-Broadway show hanging out backstage - but as the movie went on I became less and less involved. The lead character, played by Andrea Powell, is kind of spineless and uninteresting for most of the piece - it takes awhile before we even figure out that this is supposed to be HER story. And the ending, with its fiction-vs.-reality twist, is set up in a way that makes the big "revelation" (or at least, what I think was supposed to be the revelation) pretty dubious. Melissa Leo gives a very good performance as a somewhat neurotic actress, but her part is relatively small. Zack Griffiths is also very good as the young understudy who takes over the male lead in the play, which sets the dramatic chain of events in motion. But all in all I found this film pretty lackluster.
