Storyline

"The people on the block decided definitely that Jules was crazy when they heard about his composition. There had been suspicions for a long time. He made people shiver with his blank stare. His coarse guttural tongue sounded unnatural in his frail body. The paleness of his skin upset many children. It seemed to hang loose around his flesh. People declared it common knowledge that he was born on a night when the winds uprooted trees..." - Richard Matheson, 1951 Adapted from the 1951 short story by legendary horror and science fiction writer RICHARD MATHESON, BLOOD SON is an unorthodox coming-of-age story of a teenager who, obsessed with vampirism gleaned from literature and ostracized from his family and community, finally finds his identity. Horrible yet fascinating!
12 October 2006 | by (Dublin, Ireland) – See all my reviews

This is a horrible movie, yet there is something very intriguing about it. The acting is not exactly top notch, but I enjoyed it very much. I was wondering why the students names were not listed on this website, however. I thought they were a very interesting element. Their acting was wonderful, in that they all had facial reactions and expressions to Jules' essay. I think some of these students will go on to great things--in particular the lovely blonde towards the back of the room. Her expression was phenomenal! I think one day she will win an Academy Award!

All in all, this film lacked much of an interesting plot. I felt though that the acting was hysterical! From the beginning where Jules bit his mother to the end with Jules' reaction to seeing his saviour (Dracula), I could not stop laughing! There was something very interesting about the film though. I may be out of my mind, but I give this film...a 10.
