Storyline

The hated colonel Mefisto Palomarez returns waving a royal re-grant of all lands in the territory - to him, so he takes residence at the de la Vega hacienda, but accepts Don Alejandro's suggestion to have the document authenticated by an impartial non-land owner: Sergeant Mendoza. Thanks to ever-loyal Felipe, Diego learns the colonel plans to sell the pueblo to the Britton Bickel. Zorro manages to look at the parchment and finds it a brilliant forgery, but gets scarred by Palomarez with a mysterious deadly poison... Written by KGF Vissers

The Eagle Leaves the Nest - Again
11 January 2016 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

This is a loose remake of the Disney Zorro episodes involving the Eagle, the mastermind behind a takeover of CA and plans to sell the territory to the highest bidder. Disney's Zorro played it over a number of episodes: a grand saga. This Zorro crams it all into one rushed, boring episode.

One thing 1990 Zorro captured was the bearing of the Eagle. Palomarez is an excellent character, but unfortunately he isn't used well. Disney's Zorro used the Eagle more effectively, but even that series didn't do as much with the character as it could have.

At the least this one could have been a two part story with a cliff hanger to end season one. Nope, sorry folks. Season 2 began with the future Batman, Adam West, as an inventor hired to capture Zorro.
