An interesting fate for John Derek
28 November 2016 | by See all my reviews

John Derek stars in this Zane Grey Theater story about a young man with a big grudge against cattleman/banker Dick Rich whom he blames for the bank repossessing his father's ranch. From Rich's description the father was a dissolute gambler and drunkard, but that's not something Derek is willing to believe.

Derek joins a rustling outfit with the express purpose of rustling some of Rich's cattle. The outfit is headed by Dean Jagger and his son David Janssen. On a raid Janssen is captured.

After this there are a lot of surprise twists in the story, too good to be in any way revealed. Jagger and Janssen are a pair of interesting outlaws, Jagger philosophical, Janssen out for blood.

As for Derek he meets a most interesting fate. The writing and acting both tight and superb in this episode, a must for fans of the anthology series.
