A Gunfighter background
bkoganbing7 November 2016
Karl Marx had some businessmen pegged right. When the revolution comes and they start hanging speculators there will be people bidding for the rope contract for the revolution.

Such a one is Brian Donlevy who is worried about offending Leif Erickson local rancher in the way the Clanton family were local ranchers. He doesn't want sheriff Ross Elliott to do his job and he especially doesn't want Elliott's deputy and brother doing his. Dean Jones is the brother and he's got a gunfighter background because that's what you need for dealing with Erickson.

What Donlevy leads the local citizens in doing in this Zane Grey Theater western is so craven it defies belief. But we saw examples of that in High Noon. Jones has to settle things on his own.

Another quality western from Dick Powell's Zene Grey Theater.
