Poor Willie shoots down a dirty dog
bkoganbing11 November 2016
Ernest Borgnine is the star in this Zane Grey Theater western. He might have been blessed with the same name as a president, but William McKinley was also one of the assassinated ones. That's the kind of luck he has. Mining doesn't work for him, farming doesn't work for him. But when one man tries to steal his horse he shoots him down like a dirty dog.

Turns out he was a dirty dog, a notorious outlaw on the run. And there's $200.00 reward on him. More money than he's ever seen. Suddenly everyone's his friend. But there's a flip side to bringing down a notorious outlaw.

Channeling a bit of Marty Piletti into his performance Borgnine does a great job with the part. Note also a nice performance by Arthur Shields the town blacksmith and the only real friend Borgnine seems to have.

Don't miss this one if possible.
