This episode tries to fill the gap between Xena episodes "Sacrifice", "Adventures in the Sin Trade" and "A Family Affair". However, writer Melissa Blake admitted she didn't have time to watch these episodes because of schedule constraints, which resulted in several contradictions and continuity errors. See more »

Goofs

Ares tells Xena that he saved Hope from the lava pit (from the episode "Sacrifice II"). However, in season four episode "A Family Affair", which takes place chronologically after this flashback scene, Xena doesn't know that Hope is alive. Furthermore, in "A Family Affair" Hope reveals that she was saved by Dahak, not by Ares. See more »
