Storyline

Scully survives the mass killing but has no memory of what might have happened. She agrees to undergo regression hypnosis and recalls what happened, including that Cassandra Spender was re-abducted. Agent Spender refuses to believe anything to do with his mother's abduction stories. The conspirators now realize that there is a war among the aliens and that the alien resistance fighters would make formidable allies. The Well-Manicured Man also reveals that, courtesy of Krycek, they may now have a vaccine against the black oil. It doesn't appear to work as promised however. Written by garykmcd

Goofs

The alien craft crashes inside the confines of - as seen on the sign on the fence - "WEIKAMP AIRFORCE BASE" - which we discover is in West Virginia. Yes, a fictional location, however the US Air Force would never post a sign with the word "AIRFORCE" as a single word. This seems like an error in creating the prop. See more »

Scully: There's... there's another one. There's another ship. They see it. They were attacking them.
Weber: Who were they attacking, Dana?
Scully: The... the faceless men. They're... oh my God, I can't...
Weber: Do you want to stop, Dana?
Scully: No. Now it's coming at us. Oh my God! No! Cassandra!
Scully: Where's Cassandra?
Scully: They're... they're taking her. They're... oh my God.

hypnotic regression
17 October 2008 | by (Australia) – See all my reviews

I believe Cassandra Spender's abduction is a pure, classic X-Files moment. The visuals in the scene where fantastic. Scully's hypnotic regression scene has to be my favorite moment in the entire season, its just pure "X-Files" greatness. Laurie Holdie is red hot as Marita Covarrubias, she and Krycek share the best kiss in the entire series. Brian Thompson is back for a little while as the awesome Alien Bounty Hunter. Veronica Cartwright gave a great performance in the first part of this two-parter. She is really good. When the episode ends you are left asking for more. These are great mythology episodes, that you should not skip.
