Trivia

Due to the original set having been long-ago disassembled, the elaborate house set was built completely by the production crew.
Scully says she has worked on the X-Files for 9 years and worked on about 200 cases - this is the 200th show of the series - Scully has appeared in the most shows of all the main characters.
The episode starts with two teenagers invading a home that inside looks like the house from The Brady Bunch (1969). One of them is played by David Faustino who previously played Bud Bundy on Married with Children (1986), a show that has been described as a sort of anti-Brady Bunch.
After proposing a Mulder-like explanation of what happened to the first victim, Agent Doggett remarks "I think I'm finally getting the hang of this job". In a case of too little, too late, the series would end two episodes later (until its reboot in 2016).
