A bit of a tragedy this one.
Sleepin_Dragon25 January 2024
On the day of his birthday, young lad Billy is out playing with his friends, sadly he contracts diphtheria and dies. A medium visits Billy's grandfather to explain that she has a message for him, from Billy.

Again this isn't exactly a horror story, more a year jerker, it's a total tragedy, it's such a sad storyline, you just know what he's doing to do, and what's going to happen, the surprise is what came later.

For such a low budget production, this was actually rather good, the first episode I've seen that is set in the past, it looks pretty good in all fairness, credit to the production team.

It's really nicely acted, Michael Jayston and Anna Cropper are both excellent in their respective roles, credit also to the young Paul Hardy who played Billy, you just feel so sorry for him. Liz Smith was suitably cooky.

Tragic to think of just how many deaths were caused by diphtheria, I read a few weeks ago that numbers of it are rising again, it's hard to believe.

7/10.
