I'm not going to tell the whole plot, but a woman believes that her brother in prison didn't escape, but was probably murdered by the guards. The brother (James Mac Avoy, played by Jeremy Davidson) turns out to be impossibly noble, but it's a good story and Jeremy Davidson is a hunk.
Two men went missing from the prison at the same time--it's thought they escaped together, but Mac Avoy had only two weeks till his parole, and as he was a member of an "Aryan" prison gang, it seems unlikely he would have escaped along with the other prisoner, who was black. Malone assumes it was an escape, and that the sister just doesn't want to accept it, but finds out that more was going on at the prison than the warden was aware of.
The plot involves that old staple, prison homosexuality, but with a different spin (the script was written by a woman).
