Storyline

DCI Carol Jordan is called on the carpet by her boss Det. Supt. Tom Cross after she seeks advice from forensic psychologist Tony Hill on a recent string of murders. Jordan believes there's a link between the murders but Cross disagrees. Fortunately for Carol ACC John Brandon thinks bringing Tony in to assist them is a brilliant idea. Based on the information available thus far, Tony believes that the deaths are the work of the same killer. All of the victims were male and all show signs of torture, including genital mutilation. They think there might be a connection to the gay community and stake out a gay bar leading to an arrest but a shocking video shows the killer torturing one of their own, a young PC, and Tony for one thinks they've got the wrong man.
