President Grant tasks West and Gordon with an important mission. Major General Titus Baldwin is a national hero after killing many Cheyenne Indians in battle. To keep the general from attaining the fame which would propel him to the presidency and the slaughter of all the Indian tribes, West and Gordon must keep the peace between the general and Chief Strong Bear's tribe. But when a small party of Indians attacks a cavalry function, it appears those hungry for war on both sides may have all the provocation they need to start a war. West rides to meet Chief Strong Bear in an attempt to persuade him to keep the peace. Meanwhile, Gordon goes undercover in General Baldwin's cavalry to investigate the Indian attack. This is a mediocre W3 episode to experience.

*Spoiler/plot- TNOT Arrow, 1967. West and Gordon stop an ambitious presidential candidate's plan to incite an Indian uprising to gain favor with local voters.

*Special Stars- Robert Conrad, Ross Martin, Frank Marth, Robert Phillips, Jeannine Riley, Roy Engel.

*Theme- Political allies come in all races and colors.

*Trivia/location/goofs- Air date 12-29-67, takes place in a Indian territorial cavalry fort. The lake sequences were filmed at Franklin Canyon lake, a Los Angeles city public park. Mr. Conrad's short stature/height for a leading man (5'7") was compensated for with shoe 'lifts' in his boots, casting short stunt people, and short leading ladies. In fact his show was known for needing so many short stature love-interest roles for women among females actresses, it became a staple for actresses in Hollywood.

*Emotion- I was entertained but not impressed by the 'Indian uprising' scenario plot line. The cavalry colonel character was too clichéd and over-acted....Many times the villain roles fail to deliver enough 'gravitas' to balance with the strong leads of Conrad and Martin. The inclusion of Mr. Martin's Indian chief was a nice twist and spiced-up the drama. This is a mediocre W3 episode to experience.
