- Tony has organized a PTA project offering each kid a week job experience with one of the parents. Sam and Bonnie are left out, so they 'get stuck with' Tony's domestic experience and Angela's advertising agency. Lazy Sam chooses what seems the least work, only to change her mind after hearing easy-going Bonnie enjoyed giving it a real go. The scenario is repeated after the mates switch jobs, but by now the mentors get on to them.—KGF Vissers
- Tony and Angela are helping to organize a practical program at the high school, where each teen will go to work with one of the parents for the week to see what their job is like. The day to pick jobs is here, but Samantha and Bonnie come in late, and the only two jobs left are the domestic engineer with Tony or the advertising executive with Angela. The girls are bummed because they wanted cooler jobs, but only receive a reprimand from Tony about the consequences of being late. They decide that Bonnie with go with Angela and Samantha will stay with Tony.
So Bonnie gets to Angela's office. Angela needs a particular file immediately and is shocked when Bonnie produces it in a few seconds. Angela loves the new filing system Bonnie created, invites her to lunch with a client at the Russian Tea Room, and they arrive back at home laughing and joking about advertising like old friends.
Meanwhile, Tony gives Sam a pep talk on the importance of a clean home and how clean homes lead to a more peaceful world. He leaves her with a list several pages long of chores to do while he goes to class, and when Angela comes home, Sam is still on #4.
Bonnie comes in gushing about Angela, and Sam begs her to switch places with her. Bonnie agrees, so the next morning, Sam goes with Angela and Bonnie stays with Tony.
Sam's day with Angela doesn't go as well as Bonnie's. Sam tries to be helpful by putting the files in the cabinet right behind the desk - easy access. But Angela is not happy because she's having a crazy morning and needs a file now - and explains the reason they don't put files in the cabinet behind the desk is because the lock is broken and now she needs a locksmith. Sam gets excited when Angela invites her to a client lunch, but then Angela has to cancel it. By the time they get home, Samantha and Angela are quite irritated with each other.
Bonnie doesn't do much better with Tony. She breaks things and makes all kinds of messes, and Tony gets quite frustrated with her.
Samantha again goes to Bonnie and begs her to switch back. This time though, Tony overhears and steps in, telling Samantha she can't change her mind everytime she doesn't like something and she needs to follow through on her commitments.
Angela comes in and apologizes to Sam for being short with her about the file cabinet and the cancelled lunch and asks her to come back. Sam wonders why Angela would want her back because Bonnie's the one with the new filing system and Bonnie's the one she took to the Russian Tea Room, and Bonnie's the one she likes. Angela explains that she does like Bonnie - but she loves Sam. They make up and Angela and Tony both get teary when Sam refers to Angela as her mother.
The next morning, Tony asks who is going where for the day and is surprised when both girls rush out the door with Angela. He whimpers about who will help him? In comes Mona, dressed as Mr. Clean and armed with her cleaning supplies. Tony makes to run out the door....
