Groucho, though funny and witty, was annoying and irritating
mgmstar12815 January 2009
I watched part of the episode with Groucho on you tube, and I wondered how many episodes he was a part of the panel. Now I have always liked him and his wit, but I found him to be more annoying and obnoxious in the episode than funny and charming. He wasn't a good team player; he didn't put his mask on correctly during the celebrity "What's My Line?" section and was disqualified from playing.

He was on the show twice as a mystery guest and twice as a part of the panel. He was on first in 1959 and then in 1964 as a panelist, so the years were quite spread apart. I wonder if the producers and the audience at the time felt the way I did when watching this episode. I also wonder if Groucho himself didn't want to be a permanent part of the panel due to his own schedule. Anyone know?
