Did You Know?

[cont. from the first quote]
Roger 'Raj' Thomas: I didn't think so, either. Look, we really were forced. They said if we didn't do it, they'd hurt us.
Bobby La Kind: Hey, you expect us to believe that?
Dee Thomas: Look, he may be dumb, but he doesn't lie.
Keith Knudsen: What his name, Al Dunbar by any chance?
Roger 'Raj' Thomas: Yeah. How do you know?
Jeffrey Baxter: He was the lowlife that recorded our concert in St. Louis.
Tiran Porter: Yeah, and our L.A. concert.
Roger 'Raj' Thomas: And moving up on the charts is the Jefferson High concert, number 40 with three bullets.

If you only see one Episode...make this the one.
27 February 2006 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

I have been a huge "What's Happening" fan for years and this episode has it all. All the regular characters are on fire and the "Doobies" were perfect. When "Dee" asks one of the band members "Which Doobie you be?" I almost chocked on my PB and J sandwich. Then, later ,she approaches the African American band member and asks him if he is a "Half Brother"...Oh the joy. The episode does have a very powerful message that still resonates today. "Rerun" finds himself in a bit of a predicament (What else is new) that he can't seem to find a way out of. The episode uses a perfect mix of comedy and drama to teach the kids a valuable lesson that I think we can all learn from. In the end all is well. "Rerun" and the gang dodge the bullet again...except for the one that shoots out of the mouth of the sharp tongued "Shirley". I recommend you rent the entire collection but what ever you do, don't miss this one.
