Josh and Jason are hired to chase a killer who went to Mexico by his brother who is about to hang for a crime his brother committed. There they meet a barmaid with a different perspective among the less than helpful residents.
Josh and Jason are asked by Al Hemp in jail in the U.S. to kill a man for $500. Josh refuses as that is not his type of business. Al explains he is about to hang for a crime the man committed because Al agreed to take the man's place until he returns. Instead, the man ran to Mexico. When Josh asks why Al agreed to such a crazy plan, Al's excuse is that he has done it all his life as the man is his brother Billy Hemp. They agree to try to find Billy and return him to the U.S. Upon arriving in the Mexican village where he is thought to be, they enter the cantina. They ask the bartender but he refuses to give any information about hemp but offers them drinks and a room. Jason tries to convince Josh that they must stay alert so they need to skip, drinks, women, and gambling. However, Josh feels the job may require an unique approach. He asks for a drink while making small talk with the barmaid Juanita. After they decide Hemp is not in town, Josh loses him at a cabin. Back in town events ... Written by
This particular episode would appeal to paranoid persons because Josh and his buddy Jason are up against a whole town. All they are doing is trying to bring in one man, so that his brother won't hang for something his sibling did. The bad brother, though, has a lot of friends in this place. Josh and Jason don't know it but everyone is taking the crook's side.
Most of the action here takes place in a bar in Mexico and, as mentioned above, Josh doesn't realize the bartender, the local flirt, and just about everyone else is plotting to have him killed before he finds the missing man, who is hiding out just outside of town.
Some of this episode is very good and some of its is kind of stupid, which is very unusual for a "Wanted: Dead Or Alive," rarely a dumb show. It's also unusual - at least for the first --- episodes, to see Josh drink like a fish....and always be wide alert!! As I said, this isn't the smartest episode in the series but it's okay.
The fickle female in here, "Juanita" is played by a sexy woman, Chana Eden. I can see where Josh had the hots for her.
