A stagecoach arrives in town with several passengers who disembark. One of them dressed as a riverboat captain makes a detour to the hotel where he slides a piece of paper under a door. The woman inside, Stacy Torrance, picks it up discovering it is a wanted poster - for her. She is wanted for murder with a reward of $300. She has been working as a dealer in the saloon where Josh is gambling. At the saloon she asks to talk privately with Josh. She tells him she is a woman on the lam for murdering her abusive husband and needs the help of her friend. Initially reluctant, he is willing to investigate her belief that her husband is still alive and responsible for the wanted posters that have made her a lucrative target for bounty hunters. He leaves her locked in his hotel room while he runs down the stage but finds the husband left the stage earlier at a deserted town. Upon returning to town he learns other bounty hunters are after Stacy including some locals. Written by

Did You Know?
When Stacey shoots her husband at the end, he grabs his upper left shoulder, indicating that was where he had been shot. Such a wound would not be instantly fatal as was shown. In fact, numerous characters were shot in the same part of their body in westerns and fully recovered. See more
He's dead. Officially dead. You could gun him down and it wouldn't matter a bit.
Pretty ugly words coming from such a pretty girl.
