Did You Know?

Josh Randall encounters and is revealed to be a friend of historical figure Pat Garrett (1850-1908), the sheriff best known for doggedly pursuing and finally killing Billy the Kid on July 14, 1881. See more »

Two spelling errors afflict this episode: (1) Pat Garrett's name is misspelled "Garret" on the sign outside his office, and (2) the town of Alamogordo is misspelled "Almagordo" on the hotel's sign (seen when Josh and Ruth ride out of town). See more »

Ruth: Hey, how come you're planted so cozy with Garrett all of a sudden? He usually doesn't take well to bounty hunters.
Josh Randall: All I did was ask him to tell me about the time he killed Billy the Kid.
Ruth: That'd do it.

A Strange Story, With An Even-Stranger Ending
7 October 2006 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

This was a very interesting episode with a diverse group of people: a wanted man (an old friend of Josh Randall) who volunteers to be taken in by Josh so that he can give some of the reward money to his wife, so that she has enough money to go back home; the devoted wife, who doesn't know her husband's plans; a nasty guy trying to get the reward money himself, stalking Josh and then Josh and the wife as they ride out to talk to the wanted man; the sheriff who is friends with Josh but wants him out of his town and then helps him later.......on and on.

This is a strange story and the ending is really strange, not something you'd expect.
