While a kindhearted Dallas judge is setting up a camping trip for some children, with the hope of rekindling a connection with his granddaughter, Katie, there is danger growing. It comes in the form of an escaped convict and his posse, seeking revenge. They follow the activities of the judge because he had sentenced the posse's leader. Meanwhile, he is attempting to patch things up with Katie. While she hates being on the trip, her friend, Cindy, enjoys it and tries to encourage her to give it and her grandfather a chance. Meanwhile, Walker and Trivette investigate the case and the escaped convict and eventually track him down in time to stop him from killing the judge, Alex, and C.D. who are also joined the trip. By the time the Rangers arrive, the judge is close to being killed. After the rescue, Cindy apologizes to the judge after revealing her father was in fact the escaped convict who tried to kill him. He explains to her that she has nothing to be sorry about, as her father was the one who tried to kill him, not her. And by the end of the show, Katie warms up to the idea of being closer to him and being more open to new and different things.
