Natural reactions to a horrific killer.
Sleepin_Dragon3 March 2018
The team receive new evidence in the Annie Keel case, a woman serving a life sentence for murdering her husband and son's best friend. The team are split, Spencer is reluctant, Grace believes that her motives psychologically didn't make sense. Fortunately Boyd is open minded to begin the investigation.

A superb script from the nephew of non other then Helen Mirren, Simon Mirren delivers the goods. Many of these early episodes had a real level of quality, comprehensible and straightforward, sometimes the writing in the future could be a little too complex. These early episodes were also the only ones to feature humour, laughs and jokes, mainly from Spencer and Boyd, it wouldn't be long before that humour was taken out.

The main cast are excellent, but it's the presence of Harriet Walter that elevates the episode, she is perfect in the role, I totally bought into the character of Annie Keel, she looked and acted the part.

A Simple Sacrifice will forever be one of the best episodes from an outstanding TV series. 10/10
