Harry has been released from prison along with cellmate Marv Jennings. The pair are traveling on the Hale wagon train with newspaper reporter William Carr. His paper has promised the payment of $10,000 if they can lead him to Jed Whitmore. They are headed to Stringtown as is Patsy Lewis who is returning home where her stepfather has been sheriff for years and is well respected.
