The train stops near Dobe Flats where the passengers are invited to a dance by the town. Julie Wharton and her aunt meet Don Charlie who is a gambler, liar, and womanizer. All of the men find Julie very attractive and Charlie is no different. Julie is smitten with Charlie who cons a soldier into holding the train up due to Indians so he can continue to woo Julie. However, when Julie becomes serious about Charlie and wants to marry him and stay at Dobe Flats, he worms out of it by saying he is married to Tottie who wants to marry Charlie or his rival Frank. The Major and Julie's aunt are against her staying. Charlie realizes he wants to go with Julie but Tottie has other ideas. Written by
