Denny Miller takes center stage in this Wagon Train episode where he decides to leave the Train and go to work for new Indian agent Eduard Franz. Franz is a Boston Brahmin who has moved west to manage an Indian reservation and it's clear he's a bit of a fathead.

Franz has a real problem on his hand as his people are starving because the promised beef has not been delivered to him. That's getting Chief Ron Soble good and mad and he and his warriors are ready to take matters into their own hands.

Sad to say that many of the people the Department of the Interior sent out as Indian agents were just political hacks. Rare you found one that had a modicum of compassion for their wards as even Franz has. He's just a victim of rigid thinking.

Of course Miller went back to the Wagon Train and stayed there for two more seasons.
