Love Finds A Way
20 March 2014 | by (Buffalo, New York) – See all my reviews

This Wagon Train episode has young lovers Charles Robinson and Judi Meredith having to overcome a whole lot of obstacles on the way to a lasting marriage. Robinson is a young Basque sheepherder who lost his father during the late Civil War and he's raising his younger brother Charles Herbert. Meredith's father Trevor Bardette owns a big cattle ranch, but rather than see him marry his daughter, Bardette sells the ranch and goes west. He's an ill man and needs a lot of tending. His health isn't done any favors when Robinson and Herbert also join the Wagon Train.

If you're thinking this is more than just the usual cattleman versus sheepman feud you'd be quite right. Let's just say there's a lot of personal history that Bardette is not revealing to anyone, least of all to his daughter and the Wagon Train crew. So when John McIntire marries Meredith and Robinson, he's unaware of that history.

Not one of the better episodes, but nice to see young love triumph on the way west.
