Storyline

Eliot Ness and the Untouchables are out to convict political boss Brian O'Malley and have two witnesses who will testify that he ordered a murder. O'Malley is an old-time politico who never seeks office himself but controls almost every party official that does. Ness' witnesses are living in a hotel under constant police protection but that doesn't stop O'Malley who manages to use a corrupt cop to kill one of them, George Davas. Ness' only remaining option is to find Davas' girlfriend, Julie Duvall, who he learns was also a witness to O'Malley orders. Time is of the essence for the Feds as mobsters for O'Malley are also on hot on her trail. Written by garykmcd

Looking for that final witness...

When the show begins, a political boss, Brian O'Malley (David Brian) should be very nervous...but he seems anything but! While Eliot Ness and his men have two witnesses in custody who will be able to convict O'Malley, this boss seems cool. You soon learn it's because he's very confident that some 'accident' will soon befall these guys! Soon he arranges for one of the witnesses to 'jump' out of a window to his death and the final witness is anything but reliable. However, the dead man's girlfriend....she might just be able to help Ness' case. The problem is they don't know how to find her, so they end up doing some detective work to find her...beginning with a 90 cent phone call and some peanut brittle as their only evidence! The problem is that O'Malley's goons also might be able to find her first.

This is a well made and interesting episode of "The Untouchables". The only part that came off poorly was the attempt on Ness' life near the end. Wasn't it NICE of this potential killer to make that unnecessary noise to let Ness know he was behind him?!

A couple guest stars to look for in addition to Brian are Jack Elam as well as John Marley.
