Virginia Lake's copy of the "Daily Express" (complete with a futuristic masthead alongside the newspaper's iconic Crusader emblem) is dated [Sunday] 24th August 1980.
The only episode to feature both George Sewell (Col. Alec E. Freeman) and Wanda Ventham (Col. Virginia Lake).
The episode was filmed between 28 April and 12 May 1969.
Initially the Moonbase Commander, named Franco Desica, was to be played by Italian actor Franco De Rosa. De Rosa was later fired after three days of filming, for causing considerable delays. De Rosa's character was dropped entirely from the show. Some of Desica's dialogue was repurposed for a new Moonbase Commander, Lt. Gay Ellis (Gabrielle Drake).
As well as his medal ribbons Ed Straker also has USAF wings on his epaulettes denoting the rank of Full Colonel. He has above his medal ribbons the wings of an aircraft command pilot. Strangely he also has above his right hand side pocket the badge of a missile command officer. This position is usually for a plaque in plastic denoting his surname. This missile badge should be in the centre of his left breast pocket.
