Series creator Chuck Lorre started out as a musician/song writer. In this episode, Charlie writes the theme for an anime cartoon. Real world, Chuck Lorre wrote the famous theme song for the "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" cartoon. In the very first episode of "Two And A Half Men", Charlie told Jake the first thing he wrote was the theme song to the "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" cartoon.
The theme song Charlie is working on is for a new show called "Oshikuru Demon Samurai". "Oshikuru Demon Samurai" later makes an appearance on the episode of The Big Bang Theory (2007) titled The Gothowitz Deviation (2009). Both The Big Bang Theory (2007) and Two and a Half Men (2003) were created and produced by Chuck Lorre.
The song "Oshikuru" that Charlie writes is almost exactly like the Buddy Holly song "Everyday", which is heard in "Stand By Me" (1986).
