Twee, sentimental
1 June 2015 | by (United Kingdom) – See all my reviews

THE STORYTELLER is a lacklustre, kid-friendly segment of THE NEW TWILIGHT ZONE, a story that manages to be twee and sentimental in equal measure. It's a shame that the talent of various writers and directors was wasted on this kind of material because the series could at times craft genuinely spooking, moving, or unsettling story lines instead of this filler nonsense.

The plot involves a kid who has a magic ability to captivate audiences thanks to his storytelling ability. In fact, his storytelling is enough to keep his grandfather alive, night after night, well beyond his span of years. That's all you're going to get here, alongside some poor acting and a general lack of effort all round.
